Dear Successful Entrepreneur!

The TTF concentrates on tourism-related ventures and is for start up and expansions. It offers a mix of grant and debt finance. The grant funding will be capped at 35% and the debt finance at R 15 million. Deals can be co financed, and the maximum grant portion can be R 20 million.

The fund will cover:

  1. Accommodation: This encompasses establishments like hotels; resort properties, bed and breakfast (B&B), guest houses, game lodges, resorts, and backpackers facilities.

  2. Hospitality and Related Services: This category includes conference and convention venues that are significantly tied to accommodation facilities, restaurants, and professional catering. Privately owned attractions within well-established tourism hubs are also eligible for consideration.

  3. Travel and Related Services: This comprises tour wholesalers, tour operators, travel agents, tourist guides, car rental companies, and couch operators.

  4. Other Tourism-Related Initiatives: The Tourism Equity Fund is open to enterprises within the Tourism Sector and all parts of the value chain, as prescribed in the Tourism B-BBEE Sector Code.

Criteria:

  • 30% black owned

  • a legal entity registered in South Africa

  • Own by South African Citizens

  • business plan and financial forecast

  • the grant is available to start-ups and expansions
