The Small Enterprise Development Agency offers financial assistance between R 50,000 and R 15 million.
To be considered for finance, you must:
Be a South African citizen or a permanent resident
Be a registered entity, including sole traders with a fixed physical address, with a minimum 51% black ownership.
Have a written business plan that meets SEFDA’s loan application criteria
Demonstrate the character and ability to repay the loan
Be the majority shareholder and the owner-manager of the business
Provide relevant securities/collateral
Have a valid Tax Clearance Certificate
The various industry sectors are:
Services (including retail, wholesale and tourism);
Manufacturing (including agro-processing);
agriculture (especially land reform beneficiaries and contract-farming activities);
construction (small construction contractors);
mining (specifically small-scale miners) and
green industries (renewable energy, waste and recycling management).
Essential items you need to apply:
A registered company
A business plan and cash flow projections
Certified copy of your ID
Proof of residence
Loan Breakdown
Supporting quotations
Short CV of each shareholder
